Exciting News:

Felipe made the Top 5 of The People's Artist

Thrilled to share that I've been selected as one of the Top 5 finalists in The People's Artist — a celebration of imagination presented by Johnny Depp in support of The Art of Elysium.

The contest invites creators across all disciplines — visual art, film, music — to step forward and be seen, while supporting meaningful social impact through art. One finalist will receive $25,000, a feature in Artforum Magazine, and an exclusive exhibit at The Art of Elysium's Art Salon in Los Angeles.

Being recognized among thousands of talented artists is something I don't take lightly.

"This journey has been a reflection of everything I pour into my work — the search for a voice that's honest, layered, and personal."

Voting for finalists closes Thursday, June 11th. We'll keep you posted on what comes next.

An exciting new musical partnership is on the horizon!

Felipe Cano's solo project, Rio Tokyo, has joined forces with two incredible talents: Mexican musician Jack Propela and Ignacio Izeta, the acclaimed lead singer of Matute. Their collaborative single, "Ella Brilla," promises to be a standout release, hitting all major streaming platforms mid-summer.

Emu Kē // A New Sequence Begins

Growth isn't a continuous, uniform line; it happens in distinct, intentional phases. That is the philosophy behind Emu Kē.

We are shifting away from mass production and predictable fashion cycles. Instead, Emu Kē exists as a collection of limited-edition, serialized drops. Every piece tells a specific story, marked by its own number in a finite series—once a drop is complete, the loom stops, and we move forward to the next concept. This project is a deeply personal exploration of texture, form, and identity. We are stripping away the modern industrial mask to focus on the raw, authentic connection between the maker, the garment, and the individual who wears it.

The studio has been quiet recently, but the work has been constant. From the initial sketches to the final material selection, building this brand has been an exercise in precision and storytelling. My goal with this line is to treat clothing the same way an artist treats a limited print run or a filmmaker treats a final cut. Every detail matters. We’ve been working closely with our production partners to ensure the textures feel substantial, the construction feels timeless, and the serialization process feels distinct.

Driven by a vintage sensibility and traditional design motifs, this initial release features a strictly limited run of pieces. Because every garment is uniquely numbered within its series, no two pieces carry the same legacy.

We are currently putting the finishing touches on our digital space and finalizing the packaging details for the first drop. Thank you for supporting the independent spirit of this project—I can’t wait to share what we’ve been weaving together.

Stay tuned for the official drop sequence.

Literary Horizons: Capturing the Human Journey

Storytelling is an exploration of identity, legacy, and the way we connect across generations. This Fall marks the expansion of that exploration into the literary world with two distinct book projects.

The first is a debut book on parenting—a deeply personal journey that strips away the conventional mask of modern caregiving. Blending raw, real-life experience with extensive research and professional insights, it offers an authentic, grounded look at the beautiful complexities of raising the next generation.

In tandem with this project is an expansion into children's literature with the launch of Tico and Taco. This series of bedtime stories follows two adventurous anthropomorphic siblings, brought to life through a vibrant visual approach. Inspired by the rich, traditional aesthetics of Mexican Alebrije art, the illustrations and narratives are woven together to captivate young minds, turning the nightly bedtime routine into a vivid sensory experience.

Both titles will be available in physical and digital spaces this Fall.

Musical Milestones: The Klub x Zeta Bosio

On the sonic front, the momentum continues to build. The Klub has been selected as Artist of the Week for the prestigious "Hit Me" campaign.

Initiated by Zeta Bosio, the legendary bassist of Soda Stereo, this campaign is dedicated to identifying, promoting, and supporting standout emerging artists and bands. It is an honor to have the music recognized by a cornerstone of rock en español history as the journey into new auditory landscapes evolves.
