FELIPE R. CANO

Felipe R. Cano is a musician, songwriter, and producer from Tampico Tamaulipas, México.
An experienced and acclaimed bass player, he’s performed at major and iconic venues such as the Greek Theatre, House of Blues, the Rainbow Room, the Roxy Theatre, the Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena), Herb Alpert's Vibrato, and more, sharing the stage with notable artists such as Moenia, Dulce María, Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-winning bands La Ley and Ozomatli, multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy nominee Diego Torres, Latin Grammy Award-winning artists Beto Cuevas and Natalia Lafourcade, "El Vampiro" (from the Latin Grammy Award- winning band Jaguares), and other legendary Latin bands such as La Unión, La Maldita Vecindad, Bunbury, Fobia, and Caifanes.
He has been a lead player at multiple Music Production and Advertising, Digital Web, and Interactive Media companies, playing roles such as Music Director, Bassist, Composer, Music Supervisor, Music Production Consultant, Music Producer, and Co-Producer, as well as collaborations with City and State Government Departments for which he’s been honored for his achievements, and as a Speaker and Teacher for Renowned Universities and Music Schools.
As a solo artist, Felipe has delved into deeper and more experimental themes with his album "Umbra." This new project explores the delicate balance between light and darkness in life, embracing the freedom to experiment as an artist and creator. His alter ego, Rio Tokyo, blends global influences with 1980s synth-inspired electronic sounds.
He is a leading member of the production team at the iconic Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, CA, for The Temple of The Arts, where he’s worked on producing live shows for artists such as Colin Hay, Paul Anka, Belinda Carlisle, Zucchero, Matisyahu, Stevie Wonder, Howie Mandel, Patti LaBelle, Charles Fox, Yngwie Malmsteen, Lil Wayne, Engelbert Humperdinck, Carnie Wilson (Wilson Phillips), Julieta Venegas, Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Al Jardine (The Beach Boys), Kenny Loggins, Don McLean, and Cheech and Chong, as well as special events for the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival, a Special Award Celebration from the Israeli U.S.consulate with special guest Gal Gadot, and a Presidential Political Rally with candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Other collaborations include TV music composer Mike Post ( The Rockford Files, Magnum, P.I., The Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not), The A-Team, Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, Quantum Leap, NYPD Blue, Law & Order, Greco Burato (guitarist for k.d. lang, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, and Pink), Alejandro Carballo (music director for Luis Miguel), Demian Arriaga (drummer and percussionist for the Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas, Iggy Azalea, Gary Cherone, Ariana Grande, and Miley Cyrus), Sebastian Jacome (producer for Ozomatli, Enrique Iglesias, Demi Lovato, Paulina Rubio, and LMFAO), and Robert Tarango (music producer and sound engineer for Taylor Dayne, Kristine W., Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Grammy Award-winner Thelma Houston, and Exposé).
Currently, Felipe is working on The Klub's latest album, which will be featured on Zeta Bosio's (Soda Stereo) platform, Hit Me, and is due for release at the end of 2024. Simultaneously, he is releasing singles and developing the live show for his solo project, Rio Tokyo.
